About the role
Would you like to join a busy media and news relations team in one of the country's foremost membership organisations? A professional association and trade union representing the UK's doctors which is rarely out of the news and always at the centre of influencing major health policy decisions that affect the population.
We are looking for a Media Officer to join the BMA's News & Media relations team. This is an opportunity for someone with excellent writing and interpersonal skills, solid news judgement and a good understanding of health politics and policy. The successful candidate will be part of the Association's wider communications and policy directorate.
Ideally you will have had 2 to 3 years relevant experience in a busy press office in a membership organisation, a charity, or other not for profit organisation.

This is a hybrid role that will involve a mix of working at home and at BMA House in Central London. The successful candidate will also be part of the Media Team on-call service.
Please, note that this is a fixed term contract for 6 months.
