As a Medical Information Specialist at AstraZeneca, you will support and enhance the safe and effective use of our products, allowing our customers to make informed decisions about our product range. The expected start date for this role is October 2024.
Accountabilities:
As a Medical Information Specialist aligned to our oncology portfolio, you will provide a comprehensive second-line technical and scientific information service to external customers in line with company and industry standards. You will work alongside our Medical Affairs colleagues to process and manage our Named Patient Supply for oncology. You will maintain strong working relationships with aligned members of UK cross-functional team and Global Medical Information, providing insights and Medical Information support on behalf of your therapy area (oncology).
Essential Skills/Experience:
- Life science degree or appropriate professional qualifications
- Experience of Medical Information
- Experience of the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry
- Experience of external customer interactions
- Ability to effectively influence and interact with cross-functional colleagues
- Understanding of basic pharmacovigilance concepts and requirements
Desirable Skills/Experience:
- Post graduate qualification in medical/scientific discipline
- Product/therapy area knowledge for AZ brands/products, especially oncology.
- Awareness of NHS customer groups and other key customers
- Knowledge of ABPI Code of Practice
- Experience in medical writing
- Broad range of IT experience
- Project management experience
- Technical review of promotional material experience
