The Museum Manager will be responsible for ensuring good professional practice in all areas of the museum and that the museum remains accredited and financially sustainable. As well as leading day-to-day operations of the museum as an important community asset you will also be responsible for the development and delivery of key strategies to enable the charity to fulfil its aims and improve the sustainability and resilience of the organisation.
The post is a part time position of up to 30 hours (four days) per week. Depending on the operational requirements and with the agreement of the Board of Trustees, it can be a combination of attendance at the museum or working remotely.
This is an exciting time to join the team at St Neots Museum as we actively seek to apply for funding to continue our redevelopment of its exhibition spaces to meet the changing needs of Cambridgeshire's largest (and fastest growing) town. We have ambitions to grow the museum's visitor numbers and re-invigorate our programme of exhibitions. These ambitions will require the expansion of our fundraising capabilities of which the Museum Manager will take a leading role. In the short term the Museum Manager will scope and lead on the production of potential options and required community engagement needed to support the long term vision of the museum and lead on the successful application of funding through the National Heritage Lottery Fund.
St Neots Museum is a registered charity and an accredited museum, run by enthusiastic staff, trustees and volunteers. Our volunteers contribute their time and skills to provide a professionally executed, fun, interesting and educational visitor experience for all.
