Job Description
We are seeking an experienced, creative and passionate National Account Manager- On Trade Route to Market to join our growing sales team. As an integral member of the team, you will be responsible for retaining and growing share in National & Regional Wholesale and with a view to develop our business in the Multiple Operator arena.
You will build relationships with our wholesale partners to support the development and growth of the IGC portfolio into their IFT On Trade business and work to uncover opportunities to grow with their multiple operator customers.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced NAM or KAM who has in-depth knowledge and passion for the Craft Beer category.
You will have a strong commercial background with experience of launching NPD, creating JBP’s and delivering both personal, and business objectives that are aligned to commercial and volume success.
This position is field based with regular travel throughout the UK. This is a full-time position reporting to the Channel Controller for the On Trade.
The key responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:
- Manage a ledger of existing RTM customers, creating mutually beneficial JBP’s to develop the IGC range through a “Retain, Develop and Win” approach.
- Identify, target, propose and win new RTM customers that offer new avenues for IGC brand growth.
- Develop a strategy to win with National and Regional multiple operators.
- Cultivate best-in-class relationships within your existing customer base and prospected.
- Be the face of IGC and positively promote the business at every opportunity.
- Network and develop relationships across the UK multiple operator channel whilst being abreast of the movers and shakers in the world of Craft Beer.
- Deliver a high level of customer service and ensure customer expectations are exceeded.
- Present compelling and commercially sound JBP’s and deliver for the benefit of both IGC and our customers.
- Analyse sales data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Attend customer events and conventions to promote our brands and portfolio.
- Maintain effective communication with the sales team to deliver brilliant briefs to enable them to support you in the delivery of your objectives.
- Review ledger performance on Volume, Cash and Rate and work with the Channel Controller to identify what’s working well and to close any gaps to targets.
Qualifications
The key skills and qualities needed of this National Account Manager role are:
- National & Regional RTM experience ideally at NAM level.
- Excellent knowledge of the RTM and Multiple Operator channels, preferably within the Craft Beer category.
- In-depth understanding of the drinks market and what it takes to make Craft Beer succeed in the On Trade.
- To be able to demonstrate what it takes to retain and grow share in large complex accounts and deliver profitable new business.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
- High level of commercial acumen and numerical/logical reasoning skills.
- Strong understanding of a successful negotiation process.
- Proven ability to multitask, prioritize, and plan effectively.
- Highly motivated, ambitious, and passionate with a team-oriented mindset.
- A collaborative can do approach to tasks and objectives.
- Demonstrable negotiation experience with RTM’s and Multiple Operators.
- Existing relationships within the channels referenced above.
