Role Description
Position : Office Manager
Location : Sheffield, Rotherham
Sector : Engineering, science, research
Salary : £28,000 - £35,000
I am working with a start-up business in the renewable energy sector. Their R & D facility and their production will all be based in Sheffield. They have a great opportunity for an Office Manager / Executive Assistant / Personal Assistant / Senior Administrator to join their team at the outset of their journey.
Starting with almost a blank canvas, you will take responsibility for :-
- Overseeing the daily operation of the office, ensuring a safe and secure working environment for staff and for visitors
- Ensuring that any recurring legislative requirements are met eg fire alarm tests
- Providing a welcoming and friendly reception service
- Developing office policies and procedures to promote a productive and positive working culture
- Purchasing of office equipment, stationery, consumables etc
- Placing purchase orders for specialist equipment as specified by scientists and engineers
- Dealing with post and ensuring documentation is stored safely
- Co-ordinating any events, travel and transport requirements within the business including booking transport
- Onboarding new starters
- Supporting with training and development where necessary
Experience Required:
- Previous experience of managing an office
- Good IT skills including use of Microsoft software packages
- Good level of commercial awareness
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Excellent telephone manner and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as well as part of a team.
- Reliable and highly self-motivated
- Able to demonstrate excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- Logical approach and effective problem solving ability
- Positive attitude with ability to influence productive changes
- Proactive – looking for tasks as opposed to waiting to be issued work
- Any experience of working in a laboratory or manufacturing environment would be beneficial
