Our client:
As an Operations Manager, you will be working for one of the country s most successful go to landscaping companies, part of a large international group and will have an important role in their already very successful Essex depot.
Within your role as an Operations Manager, you will be assisting the Regional Director in efficient management of the region, ensuring targets are met within your Bespoke department. You will be overseeing design and installation of Sales and show areas and installation of special projects such as podiums and roof gardens.

Duties include:
- Responsibility for ensuring projects are delivered on time, and on budget and as per contractual specification.
- Ensure that projects are delivered in line with the company s financial management and SHEQ requirements.
- Responsible for ensuring the best in sector customer service is delivered throughout.
- Responsible for ensuring the financial integrity of projects. This will involve resource scheduling and appropriate procurement of goods and services for projects aligned to orders.
- Ensure that an effective site survey is undertaken prior to project commencement and that all site-specific risk assessments, method statements and specific site instructions are in place prior to project commencement.
- Day to day management responsibility for the operational team members within the departments and will be responsible for inducting new employees & temporary staff, creating job packs for each team on a daily basis.
- Responsibility for carrying out HR activities with their staff, including but not limited to disciplinary and grievance issues, performance management and appraisals and absence management.
- Responsible for the recruitment and selection of new staff.
- Responsible for formal weekly reporting to the Regional Director. Reports required include customer complaints log, H&S issues, PO logs, Profitability, work programmes & HR issues.
- Support the Regional Director and Regional Relationship Manager in pre-tender and tender situations where operational matters are key to success.
- Attend sales meetings with clients, understanding their requirements and clearly communicating the information back to the appropriate department.
- Involvement with the pricing of tenders and ensure deadlines are met, pricing associated works outside of the main contract and ensuring orders and instructions are received prior to the commencement of works.
The Person:
- Must have previous experience in a similar role, operation leader with industry relevance.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Operational and people management experience.
- Financially literate with experience of managing projects and resources aligned to budgets.
- Experience in standard Microsoft programs including Excel.
- UK Driving Licence.
