The Transpennine Route Upgrade Project (TRU) is a circa £2 billion multi-disciplinary project upgrading the existing railway route between Manchester and Leeds through the Pennines. It is the largest rail and infrastructure project in the north of England.
Working on the TransPennine Route Upgrade from offices in Manchester, Huddersfield and Batley, the purpose of the role is to provide organisational and administrative support to the project.
This is a newly created role, supporting the Alliance Managing Director and the wider team. This is a full-time office-based role, working for a friendly company where progression opportunities are available. You’ll play a key role in supporting, prioritising, and providing administrative support to the Managing Director by carrying out a range of administrative duties, including notetaking, travel, and diary management. Excellent organisation skills, time management, and the ability to prioritise a busy workload will all be essential.
Essential Skills
- Be an excellent communicator with internal and external stakeholders.
- Be highly organised with meticulous attention to detail.
- Have a proactive approach to day-to-day responsibilities and be a keen problem solver.
- Have great IT skills and be confident with Microsoft products.
- Be a great team player and have a can-do attitude.
- Experienced at managing a robust filing system in various locations, including ProjectWise and SharePoint
- Comfortable using my own initiative to progress tasks
- Ability to multitask alongside strong organisation skills
- Excellent management skills and the ability to manage a workload with regular tasks and ad hoc requirements
- Good communication skills (verbal and written)
- Experience working within a team and working independently
- Experience in minute-taking, action management, and supporting senior-level meetings.
Desirable Skills:
- Design, facilitate, and lead engagement activities for a large team.
- Experience working in a construction environment.
