Our client is a fantastic organisation within the third sector based in Newcastle under Lyme. They have an opportunity for a part-time Financial Controller to join their established team on a 3-month contract, with the possibility of an extension. They are looking for someone to work 20-30 hours per week with flexibility on days/hours worked and they also offer hybrid working.
Job Description:
As the part-time Financial Controller, you ll be responsible for leading the organisation s finance department, ensuring an effective financial function, and being part of the wider strategic leadership team.
Duties for the part-time Financial Controller will include:
- Responsible for financial planning including forecasting, monitoring budgets, and cashflow
- Producing annual consolidated accounts
- Managing the year-end audit process and production of statutory accounts
- Producing monthly management accounts
- Providing the board with quarterly management accounts including performance again budget and the previous year and forecasting the year-end position
- Providing cash flow forecasts
- Support budget-holders within the organization to ensure they have all the information they need to control and maintain their budgets
- Assist in the preparation of funding applications
- Taking the lead on all VAT including exemptions, preparing VAT returns, and dealing with internal VAT queries
- Managing income and expenditure
- Complete and submit all financial returns
- Supervising work undertaken by the finance team
- Being an effective member of the strategic leadership team by attending board meetings, and management meetings and formulating, planning, and implementing the organisation s strategic plan and policies
- A professional accountancy qualification (CIMA, ACCA, ACA) or qualified by experience
- Experience working in finance at a senior level
- Experience producing statutory accounts
- Able to lead, motivate, and support a team of accounts staff
Salary: GBP46,000 pro rata
This role is commutable from Newcastle under Lyme, Stoke on Trent, Hanley, Trentham, and Burslem.
