Who we are looking for:
Our client seeks a meticulous and experienced Financial Accountant/Controller to join their team. This is a strategic role created due to the expansion of their operations. What the successful candidate will do:
- Take ownership of the charity's day-to-day financial operations, including those of their trading subsidiary.
- Provide senior leadership and the Board of Trustees with accurate and actionable financial insights to inform decision-making.
- Partner with executives to develop and implement robust financial strategies and operational plans.
- Ensure compliance with government regulations and industry best practices.
- Manage cash flow, investments, and risk mitigation protocols.
- Oversee all payroll, tax, and insurance matters.
What the successful candidate will need:
- A relevant accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
- Demonstrated experience in a senior financial role, ideally within the charitable sector.
- Superb analytical and problem-solving skills with a relentless focus on accuracy.
- Strong leadership and the ability to mentor a small finance team.
- Excellent communication skills, able to explain complex financial concepts clearly to those without a financial background.
