Elevation Accountancy and Finance are delighted to be working with a fantastic business in Barnsley as they look to recruit a Part-Time Payroll Officer into their team on a 6 Month Fixed Term Contract.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Take full responsibility for the processing of all payroll related returns
- Ensure all timesheets are validated within agreed time frame for compliance and payroll adjustments to ensure accurate reconciliation
- Generate required and agreed staff payroll information for all employees and accurately input into Sage 50 Payroll using appropriate and agreed systems
- Reconcile all payments made to employees for each payroll, following agreed reporting and authorisation processes
- Generate, collate and record appropriately all pay elements for the payroll period, reporting all values using agreed systems
- Input new starter staff details notes as required
- Administrate leavers and P45 in a timely manner as required, including all Annual Leave payments
- Administrate all agreed Company and Employee pension obligations in line with legal and organisational timeframes, as required
- Payment of employee benefits, including health schemes, pension contributions etc. ensuring accurate administration within Sage accordingly
- Finalise payroll in SAGE 50 and submit e-banking export to Group Payroll Supervisor for payment
- Investigate and conclude all payroll queries in a timely manner, ensuring appropriate notes and details recorded
- Print off agreed Sage reports prior to starting next payroll cycle
- Summary reporting of all staff wages, salaries and expenses claims
- Provide additional reporting and payroll information where required by management
- Regular review of systems and processes making recommendations for improvement where necessary
Person Specification:
- Experience of working within a Finance Department
- SAGE 50 Accounts and SAGE Payroll experience
- Previous experience with Payroll
- Customer focussed
- PC literate with good to intermediate Excel skills
- Good literacy and numeracy skills
- The ability to adhere to deadlines and deliver required information in a timely manner
