Job purpose
We are a leading accountancy and tax firm based in Chippenham, seeking to recruit a Payroll Administrator to join our established payroll team.
Reporting to the Payroll Manager you will be responsible for administering end-to-end payroll services. This will also include the submission of clients’ returns under the Construction Industry Scheme.
Alongside the payroll service, you will be responsible for providing auto enrolment service for clients to ensure they are compliant with their duties. This will include making assessments, providing notices, liaising with pension providers and registering with The Pension Regulator.
You will provide excellent legislative knowledge in all areas of payroll and auto enrolment to both clients and other internal departments and provide this support in a professional and friendly manner to maintain and strengthen our relationships with contacts.
The role will suit an enthusiastic and organised individual with experience working as a Payroll Administrator. You will have excellent communication skills, with a good knowledge of Microsoft Office products.? It is preferred that you are familiar with IRIS Payroll, however this is not essential as training will be provided.
Duties and responsibilities
- End-to-end calculation for a portfolio of client payrolls on weekly, fortnightly and monthly cycles.
- Submission of CIS returns
- Calculating holiday, parental pay, notice pay etc.
- Set up and administer AEOs/DEAs
- Dealing with all levels of client queries
- Liaising with HM Revenue & Customs on a regular basis
- Administer pensions and submissions to providers
Qualifications and experience
- Professional payroll qualification is preferred but not essential
- At least one years’ experience of working in a payroll environment
