Reed Accountancy & Finance are delighted to be working with a manufacturing client, hugely successful and well-established and in the greater Belfast area. We are recruiting for a Payroll Manager to join a progressive and dynamic finance team on a full time, permanent basis.
This is a full time permanent opportunity offering hybrid working, 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home.
The Role:
Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Payroll Manager will supervise one other member of staff and will be responsible for the operational control of the payroll function.
The main duties will involve:
Operational control of both the weekly and monthly payrolls and management of the Payroll Supervisor
Processing a monthly payroll of 170 staff
Provide cover for the Payroll Supervisor and assist when required in the calculation of the payrolls including the maintenance of the Kronos Time & Attendance System and calculation of holiday pay
Preparation of weekly labour transfers between various departments
Establishing working relationships with production, service and support departments
Assess the technology currently utilised within the Payroll function and recommend enhancements where required
Continued focus on process improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the payroll processes and reporting. To include working closely with production, service and support departments providing analysis, understanding and costings of manning structures
Preparing and submitting of the Pension contributions to the various schemes and the annual declaration for the Insurance
Liaising with international payroll providers on the monthly overseas payrolls
Other Payroll related tasks such as End of year filing, PRP calculations, Court Orders, Childcare Vouchers, Cycle to Work scheme, Charity giving etc
Daily use of Sage Payroll and MS Excel
The Person:
Candidates will have previous payroll experience gained within a manufacturing industry
Candidates will have an advanced working knowledge of MS Excel together with Sage payroll experience. A working knowledge of Power BI would be desirable.
Candidates will have a positive approach to problem solving, good time management and the ability to work well within a team.
Staff supervision / management preferable. This might also suit someone keen to take the next step into a managerial role.
Experience of working in a manufacturing environment would be beneficial.
