The role
The team are friendly and work as a close unit, providing an excellent service to the professional fee earners (chartered surveyors). The successful candidate will be active in the payroll function and have thorough knowledge of payroll and associated legislation.
Responsibilities
Payroll:
- Processing the monthly payroll from end to end for approximately 1,300 employees, spread across 3 separate payrolls.
- Advise HR Business Partners/ Hub on payroll related matters as & when required.
- Prepare monthly payroll sign off.
- Payment of disbursements for Tax, National Insurance, Pension, Give as You Earn and Attachment of Earnings.
- Reconciliation of payroll control and benefit related balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis.
- Perform monthly National Living Wage checks.
- Assist with end of year reporting to HMRC such as P60, P11D &PAYE Settlement Agreement
- Respond to general queries from our internal Finance Team. employees, HMRC and other Government bodies.
- Liaising with internal and external auditors and dealing with any issues as they arise.
- Continuously drive for process improvement of the payroll function.
HR (Benefits):
- Liaising with Group, Benefits Team & 3rd party benefits provider on benefit data.
- Supporting in any identified benefits-related projects.
- Annual system testing before live launch.
Person specification
- Experience of ADP Freedom. IHCM advantageous
- In depth ‘end to end’ payroll experience, including year-end processing and statutory payments and deductions.
- Comfortable with manual calculations.
- Good understanding of pension legislation including Auto-Enrolment.
- Previous exposure to flexible benefits and payroll impact.
- Good IT skills essential, including intermediate Excel (Vlookups & Pivot Tables) and MS Word.
