We are seeking a dedicated Payroll & Pensions Manager to join a health care organisation based in London. As a key player in the organisation, you will manage the payroll function and ensure the accurate and timely processing of employee payments, while also contributing to the implementation of a new HR/Payroll system. This is a pivotal role that requires expertise in payroll processes, pension management, and a strong understanding of UK payroll regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • HR/Payroll System Implementation: Play a crucial role in implementing the new I-Trent integrated HR/Payroll system.

  • Data Accuracy: Collaborate with operational teams to ensure the provision of high-quality, accurate data for payroll processing.

  • Financial Reporting: Produce financial reports to facilitate payroll sign-off by the Finance Director and contribute to business planning.

  • Sickness Reporting: Prepare the monthly manual sickness return.

  • Staff Support: Provide guidance and support to staff on relevant matters, resolving payroll queries efficiently.

  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with statutory obligations and provide data for annual financial accounts.

  • Teamwork: Work closely with the HR team to ensure the smooth flow of information for accurate payroll processing.

  • Process Improvement: Collaborate with the Finance Director to implement process improvements and changes in the Payroll department.

  • Training: Deliver training to users on I-Trent, including timesheet and absence input.

  • Cover and Support: Provide cover during the absence of other Payroll Team members and support them during busy periods.

Personal Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a senior payroll role with a deep understanding of PAYE/NI rules, SSP, SPP, SMP, and NHS Pensions Legislation.

  • Familiarity with payroll software, preferably I-Trent.

  • Ability to perform payroll calculations accurately.

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to handle sensitive situations.

  • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently or within a team.

  • Analytical mindset with problem-solving abilities.

  • Strong leadership and organisational skills.

  • Good networking and business acumen.

  • Effective listening and communication skills.

  • Creative problem-solving abilities.

  • Enthusiastic and a keen team player.
