Harmonic Finance are delighted to be working with a prestigious school in North London to support their search for an Interim Pensions and Payroll Manager. This role has an ASAP start and will run until May, on a 5 day per week engagement.

As an interim Pensions and Payroll Manger, your activities shall be central to the school's enduring success as you take care of the staff Pensions and Payroll until a handover in May. Working within their stunning grounds at least 4 days a week, you shall be welcomed into a dynamic, social team that welcomes vibrant personalities and pro-active attitudes.
The Role:
Reporting into the Finance Director, you shall manage the end-to-end payroll and pensions function at the school and oversee the Payroll Officer's activities. You shall be responsible for new starters, leavers, and changes on the payroll, including the deduction of pensions schemes and student loans. It is therefore important that the successful candidate has a strong understand of Microsoft Excel to communicate between payroll systems and databases.
You shall also prepare and collate information for HMRC and play a key role in the auditing process. You will also oversee the administration of pension schemes, submissions, and reconciliations, alongside preparing payroll budgets and reforecasting processes. Acting as the central point of contact for any staff pay and pensions queries, you will review current processes to increase efficiencies across the Pensions and Payroll function.

Responsibilities:
- Overseeing end-to-end payroll across staff
- Administering Pension schemes and their reconciliations
- Reporting data to HMRC and other third parties
- Managing the Year End and Start of Year process on Audit
- Creating payroll budgets and forecasts
- Resolving staff Pensions and Payroll queries
- Reviewing payroll processes and developing efficiencies
- Mentoring Payroll Officer
- Supporting wider finance team on ad-hoc projects
What we need to see (essential):
- Experience with IRIS or similar
- 1 year+ managing a team
- Excellent Excel skills
- Strong communication skills and rapport building
What we need to see (bonus):
- 1 year+ experience within an Educational Institutional
Salary: £250-£300 Day Rate (Outside IR35)
