Job description

This role has a starting salary of £34,356 per annum, based on a 36-hour working week. We are excited to be hiring a new Pensions Project Officer to join our fantastic Surrey Fire and Rescue Service.

About the Team

Join the Surrey Fire and Rescue Service as our Pension's Project Officer and be part of a dedicated team where you can grow your career. You will be working alongside operational members of our workforce, as well as working across our Fire Stations. You will also have line management responsibility for one team member.

About the Role

At Surrey Fire and Rescue Service, our Pensions Team is currently engaged in several significant projects, two of which have sector-wide impact. As a Pension's Project Officer reporting to the Senior Pensions Advisor, you will play a vital role in the day-to-day operations of each project. Your responsibilities will include tracking progress, creating and maintaining project documentation and reports, and ensuring the successful completion of all agreed actions. The ability to understand current and upcoming legislative changes which have an impact on the Pension Sector.

Building strong relationships with our internal and external stakeholders is crucial to this role. You will lead team meetings, handle a wide range of administrative tasks, and collaborate closely with internal teams to address confidential data access queries and manage sensitive information securely.

Excellent communication skills will be key to your success in this role. You will keep pension scheme members informed through various channels, promptly responding to their inquiries, and oversee the management of the Pension Team's email inbox.

  • Solid numerical proficiency.
