An amazing organisation based in the South East are looking to appoint a People Advisor into their People team. Your office will primarily be in Chelmsford but this role offers hybrid working and travel across the Home Counties.
The People Advisor role is responsible for providing business-focussed generalist HR/People advice, guidance and interventions across a geographical area or collection of operational programmes / departments under the support and guidance of the People Business Partner. Duties will primarily focus on the professional areas of Recruitment, Performance & Reward, Employee Relations, Resource and Talent Planning and Organisational Design.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing pro-active and reactive support to line management through the delivery of appropriate coaching and training to ensure that management are capable of delivering effective and timely performance management interventions.
- Supporting the People BP in working with the operational management team to ensure that Co-Members who consistently fail to deliver to agreed expectations are pro-actively managed, using capability procedures as appropriate.
- Develops constructive relationships with Co-Members and management teams which foster an environment conducive to the early escalation of issues/concerns so that they can, where possible, be resolved in a timely informal manner.
- Monitoring attendance rates at work ensuring that line management are pro-actively managing sickness and other absences in line with the organisation's Absence policy and Sickness Absence procedure
- Provide advice & guidance to management on appropriate practices to ensure resourcing needs (e.g. management of transfers, secondments, new roles etc.) are delivered in line with the internal recruitment policy and legislative requirements.
Experience & Qualifications:
- Experience of supporting HR/People projects involving consultative activity with internal/external stakeholders.
- Delivering of HR/People advice & guidance, face-to-face, over the telephone and by email to operational teams within customer-focussed and/or contract based business environment e.g. recruitment, retail, government outsourced business activities etc.
- Actively studying towards your CIPD or hold a relevant HR qualification
This role will involve travel to 19 sites across the South East covering Hertfordshire, Essex, outskirts of London and the Home Counties.
