We are seeking a Personal Assistant
- Maternity Cover for a period of 52 weeks
We have an exciting opportunity for an innovative Personal Assistant to support the Leadership Team. You’ll gain exposure into South Cambridgeshire District Council’s operations and how we make a difference to local communities and organisations.
As a Personal Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our Leadership Team and the ideal candidate should possess demonstrable experience working in a collaborative environment and have an innovative and growth mindset.
You will need to develop and maintain a strong working relationship with our key stakeholders, building trust and confidence to allow working with a high degree of autonomy.
If you are an organised, adaptable, and proactive individual we would love to hear from you. You will need to be an excellent communicator (both written and verbal), and you will have to be tactful, highly organised, and committed to providing excellent customer service. We are looking for someone with a strong background of proving PA support and minute taking, in a political environment. We need you to be flexible and resilient and to respond positively to change and pressurised situations.
The position will be hybrid, with a mix of working from our Cambourne offices and from home.
(*) From January 2023, we are taking part in a four-day working week trial. A four-day week is when full-time staff work one less day per week (four days instead of five) but still get paid the same salary. It is not the same as compressed hours, which is working the traditional 37-hour week over four long days. A four-day week for a full-time employee at the Council will consist of 32 hours. For part time staff, the amount of hours reduced would be calculated via a pro-rata reduction. A helpful way of explaining this arrangement is that staff will need to get 100% of their work done, in 80% of the time, for 100% of their salary. The purpose of this trial is to better support the health and wellbeing of our colleagues, while still delivering an excellent service to our residents. For more information please visit our website.
For an informal discussion or to ask any questions about the role, you can email Glenda Hansen on: Glenda.hansen@scambs.gov.uk
IMPORTANT – Please review the job description and person specification before you apply. We will be looking for you to provide details of how you meet the essential criteria within the application questions.
Closing Date for applications: 9am on Tuesday 7 May 2024.
Shortlisting: Week commencing 7 May 2024.
Interviews will be held: Week commencing 20 May 2024.
Our Values: Ambitious, Collaborative, Compassionate and Accountable.
