Job description
Our son lives at home and needs some support. He is a young boy who is severely autistic. He has learning difficulties and social interaction difficulties which is getting much better. He also has a condition of sensory processing disorder.
He doesn’t like walking. He enjoys swimming and trampolining
He is non-verbal but can gesture and tell you what his needs are
To support our son to become more independent and just generally develop skills to do more for himself such as taking him out and arranging activities for him
To go to a local park or for a walk
To ensure safety at all times as our son is vulnerable and to be mindful of road safety etc
Some personal care required - prompting to go toilet.
To organise and participate in events, activities and experiences which involve me in the local community in a positive manner.
To encourage and enable me to make and maintain relationships with friends and family.
To transport me to and from my home and various locations as necessary. Mileage will be paid if using your own car.
To undertake any other reasonable tasks or duties as specified by myself, or my representatives.
Friendly and approachable with a good sense of humour
Be patient with our son as he sometimes gets frustrated if he can’t do something he wants
Car driver with class 1 business insurance on your vehicle
A DBS check will be required and arranged by the council
The ability to organise and participate in events, activities and experiences which involve me in the local community in a positive manner.

Previous experience working with young people with learning difficulties and autism
