Role and Responsibilities:
Product Data Templates
· Support definition and creation of appropriate product data templates, the population of which will enable the business to comply with all internal and contractual requirements.
· Elicit required information from product suppliers to enable population of templates with accurate, timely and current information.
Product Evaluation
· Support definition and creation of appropriate product evaluation criteria
· Support definition and creation of system functionality that will facilitate submission and subsequent assessment of existing and new products.
· In conjunction with Purchasing and Operations, promote and engage with contracts to implement a structured Product Review and Selection Process (ERG) that drives toward a harmonisation (reduction) of products across the business, reduces proliferation, and therefore maximises opportunity to leverage buying leverage. Support ERG’s through the provision of product advice and relevant data.
Product Performance Assessment
· Support definition and creation of product assessment measures and tracking, to include scrap and reject rates, life costing measures and life cycle costing, in service performance, warranty claims, complaints, and other measures as may be deemed appropriate.
· Maintain and report upon agreed assessment measures, and highlight actions required to be taken by either the business or the supplier, or both, to address performance issues. Assess and provide evidence for the suitability or otherwise of products to be selected or supplied to the business or customers of the business.
Supplier Assessment
· In conjunction with Purchasing assess and provide evidence for the suitability or otherwise of third parties to be a supplier to the business.
