This is an exciting opportunity for anyone keen to make a real difference to our local communities.
Place-based working is about transforming the way that we work - from top-down public sector led delivery to redesigning services in conjunction with communities. It is about working collaboratively with the people who live and work locally, building services from a local perspective, on the strengths, capacity and knowledge of all those involved.
The post-holder will be instrumental in this work - bringing together stakeholders from across the public, private and community sector, at a community level, to improve long-term outcomes for our communities. Therefore, they will be capable of hearing diverse views, and enabling collaboration. They would, for example, be leading on the delivery of place-based working in the North Mainland.
Place-based working is the Shetland Partnership Improvement Project for the next 4-5 years. Shetland’s long-term outcomes are set out in the Shetland Partnership Plan, and the Partnership have recognised that focusing on one, transformational project is the most impactful approach.
