Note: There may be some flexibility to work from home 2 - 3 days per week depending on business need. There is a requirement to work across the county and outside to support events on occasion.
The award-winning Essex Social Care Academy (ESCA) is looking to recruit a Project Officer to join the service working in the ESCA Development team.
The full job title of Workforce Development Officer (Project Officer) covers a diverse range of activities to support the delivery for learning and development opportunities and resources for staff in Adults and Children and Families Social Care.
You will be supporting the ESCA Development Manager and the Workforce Development Leads and Officers with projects/programmes, helping commissioning class leading content for Social Care workers. This role is predominately working in the Adult Social Care team.
You will also hold specific tasks and projects of your own. This role will offer development, by building your knowledge of project management, finance and procurement, within the area of Social Care, and helping promote the ESCA offer via our internal and external communications channels.
Accountabilities
- Support the development and commissioning of a range of blended learning and training opportunities.
- Produce project/programme reports to update progress as required.
- Support financial monitoring and budgetary review of programmes/projects of work by helping monitor project spend and contributing to the compilation of budget updates.
- Contributing to internal and external communication and promotion of content to the Social Care workforce.
- Support the ESCA Management and Workforce Development Leads by developing and maintaining appropriate systems to ensure effective planning and scheduling of projects.
- Other identified work as required.
The Experience You Will Bring
- Educated to RQF Level 3 (A Level) or equivalent by experience.
- Evidence of continuing professional development and knowledge in relevant professional area.
- Experience and evidence of working in a project support role in a large, complex organisation.
- Curious and inspired to work in an agile environment where you can learn and develop.
- Experience of engaging with others to build good working relationships and communicating effectively in order to achieve the right outcomes/progress for the project(s) and/ or programmes.
- Experience of working with a broad range of individuals at different levels within an organisation, with strong team working skills and ability to engage/persuade to maintain project/programmes progress.
- Experience of working within a large, complex political environment with knowledge of a public sector setting.
- Evidence of adopting a structured and planned approach.
Please note that the job role requires you to be mobile throughout an operational area. Therefore, the post holder will need to have a driving licence and access to a vehicle, or the ability to meet the mobility requirements of the role through other means.
