Purchasing Assistant - Part Time

Are you an experienced Buyer / Purchasing Assistant looking to work for an established company, with the flexibility to work around school hours?

This is an exciting new opportunity to join a company based in Braintree, working part time hours with flexibility. This role will be working between 24-30 hour per week (for example 5 hours per day). This is a fully office-based role with free parking.

Duties will include but not be limited to:

• Negotiating contracts for the supply of materials, goods, and services, ensuring suppliers deliver goods and services on time and at the agreed cost
• Managing supplier exceptions effectively and ensuring actions are met
• Identify materials and approving new sources of supply to reduce supply risks
• Liaising with customers and suppliers to ensure the most cost-effective solutions for materials and goods
• Providing any ad-hoc tasks to support the purchasing team
• Undertaking analysis of price variation by focusing on product cost drivers and cost reduction
• Reporting any issues to the appropriate department efficiently

To be successful for this position, you must have a minimum of 3 years' experience within purchasing. You must also have strong coordination, interpersonal and negotiation skills, as well as the ability to o build effective working relationships. Salary for this role is 24-26k pro-rata DOE.
