Butler Ross have a fantastic opportunity for a Purchasing Assistant to join an established global wholesale company, this role is based out of their Nottingham office with a 50/50 split working from home. This role will play an instrumental part in a newly formed category purchasing team that will support all functions to work towards achieving business excellence.
Duties of the Purchasing Assistant
- Raising and managing purchase orders, ensuring the correct source of supply, price, material group & delivery location.
- Expediting orders and monitoring delivery dates, flagging up any issues or risks.
- Preparing reports and providing analysis as and when required, identify cost saving opportunities and report to the correct parties.
- Evaluating new suppliers and working closely with the wider procurement team to appoint preferred suppliers within a set remit.
- Working closely with large amounts of data, demonstrating quality data entry into purchase orders and cost reduction plans.
- Prepare and issue tenders for goods and services.
- Negotiating to improve prices and terms of business using best practice methods.
Experience Required for the Purchasing Assistant
- 3+ years' experience in purchasing.
- Previously used ERP/MRP systems, SAP Hana would be highly advantageous.
- Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to build strong relationships.
- Educated to A-Level or equivalent.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong excel skills including Vlookups, Pivot Tables & conditional formations.
- Good time management with the ability to prioritise workload.
Salary: 24,000 - 28,000
