Quality Manager
Forte Recruitment Solutions are looking for an experienced Quality Manager, who is compliance driven, to join our client within the Basingstoke area.
About the Role:-
Reporting to the Operations Manager this is a demanding front-line, high pressured & busy role.
The role of Quality Manager will require a highly motivated individual with a great attention for detail, enhanced analytical skills and excellent communication skills.
This role has a very wide variety of responsibilities. The main purpose of the role is to ensure that the depot, its employees, and its processes comply with all relevant regulations and specifications. This includes customer SLA s, health and safety, environmental, legal, quality standards, as well as any ethical and company policies.
Suited to a highly motivated, well organised individual, with a great attention to detail and strong communication skills. The successful Quality Manager will uphold the highest standards of working practices to maintain our current outstanding performance levels for both internal and external audit outcomes, and a safe working environment.
The Salary for this role is = GBP40,000 to GBP48,000pa Room for further negotiation for the right candidate.
Hours of Work = 8am to 5pm, 40hrs per week There will be the requirement to work 1 weekend in every 5 as a Duty Manager, on a rota basis.

What would be the main responsibilities?
The main responsibilities of the Quality Manager role are:-
- Manage the full Quality Assurance process.
- Implement Hygiene & Good Manufacturing Programmes.
- Maintain Quality Systems, Maintenance, Health & Safety and Training.
- Management of Food Safety processes and procedures.
- Prepare, facilitate, and arrange site meetings relative to training, compliance audits, and Health & Safety.
- Maintain records and data, update and complete.
- Prepare reports and summarise data as required.
- Work with the sales team to complete any retailer QA/Compliance records.
- Investigate and report customer complaints.
- Manage internal specifications, audits and Good Manufacturing Programmes.
- Communicate effectively with customers and internal teams regarding all relevant issues.
- Keep information accessible and fully up to date.
- Update job & industry knowledge by participating in training opportunities.
- Prepare for, participate and conduct audits such as; BRCGS, MHRA and safety audits.
- Oversee and manage the maintenance of the building and equipment and facilities.
What key skills would you need for the role?
The Quality Manager role does require certain skills, which include:-
- Strong customer focus, with enhanced analytical skills.
- Comprehensive knowledge of MS Office.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build a strong rapport both internally and externally.
- Ability to work as an individual or as part of a team.
- Ability to make quick decisions, work in a fast-paced environment with the agility to respond quickly.
- Strong prioritisation and organisational skills.
- Good knowledge of Food Safety legislation.
- Flexibility required, as additional hours maybe be required at short notice.
- Previous experience of working in the fresh produce industry Advantageous, but not essential.
- Previous experience in managing Contractors, advantageous Advantageous, but not essential.
- Previous auditing experience (BRGCS, SMETA, H&S) etc. Preferable.
- Food safety qualification, including IOSH Managing Safely - Preferable.
- There will be the requirement to lift product weighing approximately 20kg.
