Quality Manager
12 Month Contract

Our Client has a requirement for a highly skilled Quality Manager, who will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of quality and compliance within the client joint venture team at Sellafield.
Role Purpose: The Quality Manager will oversee and implement comprehensive quality assurance and quality control processes across the design, construction, and commissioning phases, leading quality activities across a multidisciplinary team and managing the Quality Team.
Job Role Responsibilities of the Quality Manager
- Develop QA plans tailored to project needs.
- Write project-specific procedures to interface effectively with clients and JV/Alliance partners' operating systems.
- Assess, monitor, and audit vendors to ensure goods supplied meet specifications.
- Advise project purchasing staff on vendor competence in QA matters.
- Develop and implement robust QA/QC processes for compliance with industry regulations, standards, and project requirements.
- Conduct regular audits, inspections, and assessments to monitor and verify adherence to quality standards.
- Collaborate with project teams to establish quality control plans and procedures for each project phase.
- Lead and motivate a diverse team of quality professionals, designers, and project managers.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to foster a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
- Facilitate regular team meetings, communicate quality objectives, share best practices, and address challenges.
- Interface with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment with project quality requirements and standards.
- Establish and maintain a comprehensive documentation system for quality records, reports, and corrective actions.
- Prepare regular and ad-hoc reports on quality performance, trends, and areas for improvement.
- Identify training needs and coordinate the development of training programs.
- Promote a learning culture encouraging continuous professional development within the quality discipline.
- Proactively identify potential quality risks and work with project teams to develop mitigation strategies.
- Investigate and analyse quality-related incidents, implementing corrective and preventive actions.
Experience / Skills / Knowledge / Qualifications of the Quality Manager
- Minimum 5 years experience as a Quality Engineer or higher in nuclear decommissioning or similar high-regulation industries.
- Experience in relevant quality/environmental/occupational safety management system standards (ISO 9001/ISO14001/BS OHSAS 45001).
- Continuous improvement tools and techniques.
- Familiarity with Quality Control inspection and NDT.
- Strong leadership, interpersonal skills, excellent communication, and presentation abilities.
- Thorough understanding of QA/QC methodologies and tools.
- Proficient in project management and collaboration software.
- Analytical mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
- ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor.
- Proven experience on multidisciplinary teams on complex engineering projects.
- In-depth knowledge of relevant industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
