M Group Services Telecom Division are recruiting for a Quality Manager who will lead our Quality Assurance teams. This position will be tasked with working on our projects in the North of England and Scotland and as such the successful individual will be based within this location. The successful individual will be expected to travel between our depots within the region, using a company vehicle.
About the position
The purpose of the role is to lead our Quality Assurance team working within the Telecoms SHEQ Division and requirements for this role are as shown below:
- Support the Head of SHEQ in ensuring and maintaining the highest standards of quality assurance throughout the company is achieved
- To lead in the delivery of policies, objectives, and procedures.
- To support operational leads regarding the successful delivery of project builds specific to client’s requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- The role will be heavily focused on compliance with our ISO 9001 accreditation to ensure continuous effective control is maintained.
- You will be responsible for the development and continual improvement of the Business Management System documentation specific to the scope of undertakings. (Specifically, to the business and clients requirements regarding the Build, Inspection and Test Plans for each contract).
- You will be responsible for supporting the audits for our certifications and accreditations.
- Drive quality and performance improvements by regions for all relevant contracts and customers.
- Produce reports on findings through analysis of the completed audits and inspections highlighting focus areas both good and bad.
- Undertake investigations of all major quality failings, in conjunction with the relevant operational managers making appropriate recommendations where necessary to ensure future prevention.
- You will manage a team of Quality Auditors., and will work with the Quality Manager based in the South of England
- The role involves working closely with the various business unit leads, clients and suppliers to ensure that all standards are understood, met and complied with
Desirable attributes
- Good team leadership skills, with ability to motivate and drive performance in a team
- A good understanding of BT Openreach standards and best practice, as well as alternative network requirements
- Understand the requirements of NRSWA and requirements of Highway Authorities.
- To be able understand and communicate technical requirements and processes to subcontractors, operatives, and other interested parties in a clear concise manner.
- Excellent report writing skills.
- Good verbal communication skills and able to present findings and reports in customer meetings in a clear, respectful, and concise manner.
- Good analytical skills – able to analyse data to detect trends, key failures and associated corrective actions.
- Good PC skills – Word, Power Point and Excel
Required qualifications
- Lead Auditor for 9001 Quality management or alternative in 14001/45001, Environmental & Health & Safety Management Systems (IRCA registered) or working towards
- Experienced in the use and development of Business Management Systems
- 5 or more years Telecommunication industry experience
- Full UK driving license
Desirable qualifications
- NEBOSH General Certificate
- Openreach experience including
- Underground overhead services
- Poling
- FTTP, lead to cash, Passive Infrastructure access (PIA)
- CQI membership working towards CQP MCQI
