Position Overview: As a Quantity Surveyor specializing in Mechanical and Electrical (M&E), you will be responsible for accurately estimating and managing costs related to projects involving Mechanical and Electrical components. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in quantity surveying with a specific focus on M&E systems.
Responsibilities:
- Cost Estimation:
- Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for projects incorporating Mechanical and Electrical elements.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to understand technical requirements and ensure comprehensive cost assessments.
- Budget Management:
- Monitor project budgets and expenditures related to Mechanical and Electrical systems.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and provide recommendations to optimize project financial performance.
- Tendering Process:
- Participate in the tendering process by preparing tender documents, analyzing bids, and recommending suitable contractors for Mechanical and Electrical works.
- Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Risk Assessment:
- Conduct risk assessments related to cost implications for Mechanical and Electrical components.
- Develop strategies to mitigate cost-related risks and ensure project profitability.
- Quantity Surveying Standards:
- Ensure adherence to relevant quantity surveying standards and methodologies in all M&E-related activities.
- Keep abreast of industry trends and regulations affecting Mechanical and Electrical cost management.
- Collaboration:
- Collaborate with project teams, engineers, and other stakeholders to align cost estimates with project goals and timelines.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external teams to ensure cost considerations are well-integrated into project planning.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Professional certifications are a plus.
- Proven experience 8 in quantity surveying, specifically with a focus on Mechanical and Electrical systems.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills.
- Proficiency in relevant quantity surveying software and tools.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Familiarity with industry regulations and standards related to Mechanical and Electrical works.
