Job description

We have a great opportunity within our FA Education team for Resource and Planning Manager focused on learning and development operations.

You will be responsible for leading and managing the planning and scheduling of FA Education delivery and resources to ensure the highest level of high levels of end-to-end customer service excellence and to world class service standards.

What will you be doing?

  • Lead and manage the scheduling and Planning of FA Education activity delivery (learning events and courses) to meet the demands of the game.
  • Maintain and communicate a calendar of delivery across Grassroots and Professional Game provision over a 36-month view, managing the requirements of key internal and external stakeholders
  • Manage a team of FA Education Coordinators to provide an efficient and effective operational support service to assist in the delivery of FA Education courses, balancing specifications and requirements with constraints.
  • Maintain a delivery calendar that optimises activity but considers and manages venue and Coach Developer availability, operational capacity, and cost.
  • Maintain a database of venue facilities that includes details of suitability for ongoing delivery, including established stakeholder and relationship management of key contact.
  • Maintain a process that ensures all course and ongoing resource requirements are ordered, maintained, and distributed to ensure seamless delivery for Learners and Workforce
  • Drive performance improvement with high quality reporting and insight across the Education department providing proactive identification, resolution and escalation of scheduling/resource risks and issues.
  • Drive and manage continuous improvement strategies supported by data-led insight and root cause analysis.
  • Demonstrate high levels of collaboration and personal leadership across FA Education and within other key Divisions, with a particular focus on working across Coach Development, Learning and Development and Digital Technology.
  • Support documentation of processes, SLAs and KPIs in the FAE Operating Manual to ensure minimum standards and clear consistent processes across FA Education
  • Work effectively with key external stakeholders including to provide excellence in service to County FAs and Learners
  • Executes additional tasks as required in order to meet FA Group changing priorities.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures to ensure the highest standards of health, safety and wellbeing can be maintained.

What are we looking for?

Essential for the role:

  • Strong skills in MS Office including Excel, PowerPoint and Work
  • Experience of leading a team & operating in matrix Management structure
  • Project Management experience
  • Ability to demonstrate analytical and judgement skills to draw insight from management reporting
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Problem solving ability
  • Evidence of strong resource planning skills including experience of using planning tools to manage resources
  • Experience of creating and implementing effective business plans
  • Ability to influence key stakeholders across an organisation

Beneficial to have:

  • Experience of a sporting organisation / association
  • Project management qualification (PRINCE2 or similar)

Our Organisation

The Football Association [The FA] is the not-for-profit governing body of football in England. We currently work within a hybrid working model whereby the expectation is to work from your contractual location for part of the week, and as and when required by the team.
