About the Role:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for two enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join our busy Revenues and Benefits Team as a Revenues Officer at Gloucester City Council. Based at our Eastgate office in the city of Gloucester and predominantly offering the flexibility of remote working, this role offers a diverse and interesting range of responsibilities.
As a vital member of our team, you will be responsible for the Billing, Collection, and Recovery of Council Tax. You will be accountable for the setup of direct debits, applying discounts, exemptions and tracing absconded Taxpayers. Your deep understanding of relevant legislation, and experience of local authority benefits or revenues administration will effectively guide your day-to-day decision making. Supporting customers with payment arrangements and providing information on available support.
What we need from you:
As a Revenues Officer, you will play a crucial role in the accurate and timely administration of Council Tax billing. Your commitment, teamwork, and ability to work independently will be vital in completing tasks and achieving targets while supporting the Council's vision, values, and strategic objectives.
You will be a self-motivated and enthusiastic individual able to cope well under pressure, dealing with difficult situations, using your own initiative. Ability to communicate effectively with people both verbally and in writing, using tact and discretion where required, will be instrumental in assisting customers facing difficulties in paying their bills. Your ability to work methodically, prioritise workloads has resulted in effective teamwork and exceptional customer satisfaction.
To be considered for the role you will be required to be computer literate with a working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.
