Sales Ledger Clerk
  • Job Type: Full-time
  • Location: Coventry
  • Salary: c£,25 to £28k depending on level of experience

We are looking for a diligent Sales Ledger Clerk to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for a variety of tasks including raising invoices, credit control, and liaising with clients, tenants, and internal teams. This role requires someone with excellent attention to detail and strong communication skills.

Day to Day of the role:
  • Raising invoices for various billing frequencies and charges, including rent, service charge, insurance recharges, and direct charges to tenants.
  • Conducting credit control activities, chasing tenants for payment via email and phone, and monitoring bank receipts.
  • Setting up new clients, properties, and tenants in the in-house system, ensuring all necessary information is collected and invoiced.
  • Managing lease renewals and rent reviews, liaising with surveyors, and updating the system with new lease terms.
  • Communicating with clients regarding rent queries and providing debtor reports as needed.
  • Coordinating with the Service Charge accountant for annual budgets and addressing year-end queries.
  • Handling insurance-related invoicing and collection of payments.
  • Generating and distributing client reports at month-end.
  • Reviewing system transactions for anomalies and communicating required actions to team members.
  • Assisting with bank reconciliations and correcting mis-posted receipts as instructed by the Finance Manager.
  • Participating in client meetings to discuss new tenants, arrears, and other financial matters.
  • Collaborating with solicitors on financial matters related to lease renewals, new leases, and LPE1 forms.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in a Sales Ledger role.
  • Strong understanding of billing processes and credit control.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in using finance systems and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
