Key Responsibilities:
- As the Sales Manager, you will play a pivotal role in propelling sales efforts towards achieving and surpassing annual targets within the USA, Canada, and the Americas. Your strategic acumen will be instrumental in devising and executing plans to broaden the customer base while fostering enduring relationships with both customers and consumers.
- Collaborate closely with the Managing Director to consistently meet or exceed annual sales targets.
- Devise and execute strategic plans to expand the customer base and achieve sales objectives.
- Nurture and sustain robust, long-term relationships with customers, distributors, and consumers.
- Engage with local distributors, agents, and customers to understand their needs and objectives, collaborating to formulate plans that exceed expectations.
- Effectively communicate the value proposition through compelling proposals and presentations.
- Stay abreast of category-specific landscapes and trends.
- Formulate and execute the annual business plan for your region in collaboration with distributors.
- Monitor and analyze P&L for your region, managing risks and seizing opportunities to meet or surpass budgets.
- Report on factors influencing tactical budgets and the strategic direction of accounts.
- Forge strategic partnerships in the supply chain, fostering relationships and implementing best practices.
- Establish close relationships with the distillery team.
- Collaborate with customer service and production teams to enhance operational processes and overall business involvement.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in the spirits industry, preferably in whisky.
- Proven track record of driving growth in whisky/spirits brands within the USA and broader Americas region.
- Experience in managing US distributors and customers.
- Ability to manage customers and distributors at a senior level.
- Integrity, creativity, self-motivation, and strong reasoning and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong numerical skills with the ability to discern biased or inaccurate data.
- Spatial reasoning skills advantageous for logistics, supply chain, production, and product considerations.
- Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed sales targets.
- Previous experience working with premium brands.
- Effective communication and influencing skills across all organizational levels.
- Proven ability to successfully drive strategic plans from inception to execution.
- Ability to articulate product/service distinctiveness and position against competitors.
