Reporting to the Senior Sales Manager
Purpose of the role
To demonstrate excellent customer service and professionalism to existing and prospective customers. The Sales Administrator will be responsible for taking care of a database of existing customer accounts who require varying levels of support dealing with incoming queries. Day to day servicing of the account base will be the main duties required but there will be opportunities to develop and grow a number of these accounts with guidance and support from senior sales members. You will be responsible for product knowledge, answering customer queries and building rapport and relationships with key customer contacts in order to identify opportunities.
Full training and development plans will be offered for the successful candidate along with clear progression opportunity. The role requires someone who demonstrates strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
Main responsibilities
- Service a catalogue of existing customer accounts providing quotations, entering sample and project brief requests and dealing with ad hoc product enquiries
- Supporting senior sales members with quotations and information whilst they are out of office
- Qualify and respond to incoming sales enquiries
- Attend monthly sales meetings and report on the performance of your account base
- Identify growth opportunities amongst your assigned account base and take necessary actions to achieve targets as agreed with your line manager
- Build relationships with customer contacts across a variety of disciplines
- Share marketing information with customer database as required by the marketing strategy
- Work closely with NPD teams to be informed on new launches and roll out to target customer accounts
- Keep customer and product databases up to date with key information
- General administration support for the office and commercial team
Knowledge, experience, and skills required
Essential
- Good attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft tools (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
- Proactive approach and professional attitude to work, but an ability to relax within the structure of the company
- Confident communicator who is able to engage with customers
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and industry trends
