In the aftermath of the illegal attack on Ukraine by the Russian government, the Department established a permanent Trade Sanctions team. We are a small but growing team tasked with setting up a new unit within DBT to strengthen the implementation and enforcement of trade sanctions.
We are in the set-up phase of the new unit and expect it to become operational in the first half of next year, subject to the necessary legislation.
As part of a newly forming team to meet these challenges, you will have the opportunity to help shape its remit and culture, ensuring that the team delivers on this high-profile area of trade policy. As this is a new team, the successful candidate will need to recognise that responsibilities will evolve over time.
This role sits with the engagement and guidance team. The Guidance and Engagement team will consist of two G7 led teams who will work closely together and with our enforcement and policy teams. We are a small but growing team and are looking for an SEO to support our work providing guidance to businesses and our domestic and international engagement.
This role is advertised as fixed term until end March 2025 with the possibility of it being extended.
