The successful School Finance Manager will be required to provide accurate and timely financial advice and information to the executive team, governors, senior leaders, and other colleagues to enable the best use of financial resources.
School Finance Manager duties include:
- To review and manage in-school projects that have a financial aspect.
- To carry out financial modelling when requested to do so to enable strategic decision making.
- Ensuring that all budget holders manage their budget appropriately and effectively.
- To monitor and improve the effectiveness of the deployment of resources against future business and school needs.
- To carry out benchmarking activities and make suitable recommendations for change.
- Responsible for updating the compliance centre with required certificates.
- To ensure the correct operation of the school’s financial management system (FMS). Analysing and reconciling financial information from FMS for decision making and budgeting purposes.
- Educated to degree level in a finance/business related discipline.
- ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent qualification preferred.
- Experience in a leadership/management role within education.
- Accountable for significant budgets; holding a senior role in finance.
