School Librarian
Band D £27,803 to £34,834 pro rata
37 hours per week, term time only; willing to consider full-time or job share.
We are looking for a highly motivated and knowledgeable individual to take responsibility for the school library at our thriving secondary school in Balsall Common. Following the refurbishment of our library, we are looking for a leader who will relaunch our library offering and re-embed the library as a core part of our educational experience.
Key qualities:
• Educated to degree level, ideally with a qualification in librarianship.
• Experienced in working with children, preferably in a school library environment.
• Knowledgeable and enthusiastic about children’s books.
• Committed to creating a safe and happy learning environment.
• Comfortable with technology.
• Able to work independently using their own initiative.
• Organised and calm in busy situations.
• Innovative - looking for new ways to inspire the students and to develop the Library.
• Patient, with a sense of humour.
• An understanding of child safeguarding requirements.
