The role
As a Security Manager, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. The Security Specialist will work within the Security team of Cavendish Nuclear's Process, Plant and Equipment programme to deliver security as part of a major national defence programme and assist with reporting to provide assurance to clients.
Day to day, you'll manage the process for all visits to the site, as well as:
- Prepare and implement the relevant Security Instructions, and make sure that they are made available to, and understood by all appropriate employees, updating them as necessary.
- Be responsible for interpreting, implementing, and monitoring security controls for the appropriate protection of protectively marked assets held on the site.
- Arrange for appropriate security education and awareness training.
- Ensure that any breach of security is immediately reported to the respective client and that the circumstances are investigated, the outcome is recorded in the security breach register and a full report is passed to the client.
This role is full time and based onsite at our Dalton Road site.
Essential experience of the Security Manager:
- Previous experience working in a security control role either directly with the government or servicing a government body.
- Working knowledge of the Government Security Policy Framework and awareness of recent government security policy; for example, GovS007
- Willingness to be flexible and assist in other areas of the business where deemed necessary.
- Experience in writing security policies and/or procedures
Qualifications for the Security Manager:

The successful candidate must be able to achieve BPSS security clearance for this role.
