The Role
The Senior Business Manager role is focused on delivering a unique and tailored solution to manufacturing, engineering, and supply chain problems. Unipart Manufacturing have core capabilities that are at the heart of the business strategy; Safety critical processes, complex assemblies, welding and joining, design for manufacture, supply chain management, complex customer challenges.
The model applies Industrial knowledge and experience to provide our customers with a full manufacturing and service, operated through Contract Manufacturing or a JV model.
The Senior Business Development Manager reports into the Business Development Director. The primary function of the role is to be responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities with new customers and or new products as well as lead and coordinate the sales team.
The position will fully utilise the tools, techniques and best practice of Unipart Group and the use of the Business Operating Systems to achieve business goals and objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Grow profitability a portfolio of accounts in line with corporate plan, business growth and targets.
- Provide business intelligence, which will identify future opportunities.
- Drive the formation of the Business Development strategy and its implementation.
- Provide effective coaching and to others in the team, ensuring the team utilise the Unipart Way tools and techniques.
- Responsible for preparing RFQs and business cases for new enquiries.
- Key interface for customer on all commercial activities including NPI.
- Accountable for the overall new customer relationships
- Coordinate cross-functional activities on behalf of the customer, including value for money activities.
- Support customer engagement hub activities including the maintenance of customer account plans.
- Facilitate cost estimation activities.
The Person
The successful candidate will possess proven Account Management expertise either at first or second tier supplier in automotive industry or similar manufacturing business and be a proven contract negotiator.
You will have demonstrable coaching and mentoring experience and experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment, with a proven track record of delivering commercially strong projects and experience of building and maintaining strong and positive customer relationships.
The Senior Business Development Manager will be familiar with all Customer specific requirements and be able to update customer portals including Convisint and SupplyOn – demonstrating a working knowledge of financial management.
You will be proactive with an ability to seek out commercial opportunities and to secure the delivery of these into the business and can work to tight deadlines and prioritise workloads.
The Senior Business Development Manager will showcase excellent communication skills including both written and spoken content and be able to deliver insightful and interesting presentations to customers.
