Company Overview: FMK are looking for a Senior Commercial manager to join our client, a dynamic and vibrant fresh produce trading company based in the UK. They specialise in the procurement and distribution of high-quality fruits and vegetables from strategic Global locations. Southern Hemisphere countries in particular. Their extensive network and established relationships with growers enable them to serve a diverse customer portfolio across Asia, China, North America, the Middle East & North Africa (MENA), European Union (EU), and the UK. This role will be ideally located in Miami, other locations will be considered.
Role Overview: We are seeking an experienced Fresh Produce Commercial Manager to lead the commercial operations out of ‘The Americas’. This senior role requires a dynamic individual with exceptional knowledge of the fresh produce industry, a robust network of contacts in southern hemisphere countries, and a proven track record in managing grower relationships and expanding customer portfolios.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and execute comprehensive commercial strategies to optimize procurement, distribution, and sales of fresh produce.
Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with growers in southern hemisphere countries, ensuring consistent and reliable supply chains.
Expand and manage a diverse customer portfolio across Asia, China, North America, MENA, EU, and the UK, fostering long-term partnerships and maximizing sales opportunities.
Stay updated on market trends, pricing, and supply-demand dynamics to make informed business decisions and capitalize on emerging opportunities.
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless logistics, quality control, and compliance with industry regulations.
Work closely with UK and European counterparts to ensure full collaboration and perfect execution of Company plans.
Qualifications and Experience:
Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in a similar senior role within the fresh produce trading industry.
Deep understanding of fruits and vegetables, their seasonal cycles, quality standards, and market nuances.
Proven track record of successfully managing grower relationships and expanding customer bases across diverse international markets.
Strong network and contacts within Southern Hemisphere countries, demonstrating the ability to source premium produce.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and leadership skills.
Fluency in English and Spanish with additional languages desirable .
