Job description

Are you an exceptional communicator looking for a role where you can see the direct impact of your work?

Our client is hiring for two Senior Community Executives to work with their high value patient families and supporters to maximise their fundraising and support.

This is the ideal opportunity if you have previous experience in community fundraising and you want to take your career to the next level. They have ambitious targets and the High Value team aims to raise £2.3M in the next year.

Some of the community fundraising events you could get involved with include:

  • A team rowing the Amazon to raise £80k
  • A school art exhibition committee raising £60k
  • A patient family raising anything between £10k – 100k.

If you’re passionate about working within community fundraising and have a keen interest in working with patient families, then this is the role for you.

About You

You’ll have exceptional people skills and have expertise in building lasting and effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Previous experience in a community fundraising position – ideally with in memory experience.
  • A passion for fundraising and delivering engaging and inspiring supporter experiences and stewardship.
  • Effective and sensitive communication skills – you will need to be comfortable engaging with families of current and former patients and recently bereaved families.
  • Creative and dynamic approach to fundraising.
  • Highly empathetic.
  • Ability to present to and influence internal and external stakeholders.

About the Team

The High Value Community team consists of a Senior Manager and three Senior Executives. They collaborate together to manage their DIY Individuals and Brighter Future Funds as well as their Charity of the Year Schools.

They work alongside the wider community fundraising function; a team of 16 responsible for delivering over £5M of vital income for our client.

Please refer to the full job description below for more information.

What they offer you

  • 30 days annual leave (plus bank holidays), with the option to buy or sell up to 5 days
  • A flexible approach to working arrangements
  • Access to their enhanced pension scheme
  • Life assurance
  • Discounted season ticket loan
  • Access to various health and wellbeing schemes, including the employee assistance programme

How to apply

Please click on the apply button in the top right-hand corner. You will be taken through to a short application form to complete. They encourage you to include a cover letter with your application.

Closing Date: 23rd January 2024

About the Charity

Every day brings new challenges. Every day, over 750 seriously ill children from across the UK arrive for life-changing treatments. Every day, young lives hang in the balance as patients, families and staff battle the most complex illnesses. And every day, the brightest minds come together to achieve pioneering medical breakthroughs that change the lives of thousands of children – and change the world. This extraordinary hospital has always depended on charitable support to give seriously ill children the best chance to fulfil their potential.

Without donations, our client can’t help fund ground-breaking research, advanced equipment, child and family support services, and the rebuilding and refurbishment of wards and medical facilities. Their staff help to raise these vital funds for the hospital. A better future for seriously ill children starts with you.

Along with being awarded the ‘Sunday Times Best Places to Work 2023’, they were delighted to be recently awarded the Charity Times Fundraising Team of the Year 2023.

Their Commitment to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion

A more diverse workforce will enable them to deliver even more impact and they particularly encourage applications from communities which are under-represented in the charity. This includes people from ethnically diverse backgrounds, disabled people or those with long-term conditions, LGBTQ+ communities, and those from less advantaged socioeconomic backgrounds. Further information on their EDI strategy can be found on their website.

As a Disability Confident Committed Employer they are more than happy to make reasonable adjustments wherever possible throughout the recruitment process. For more information on this please contact them.
