The Policy Institute at King's College London works to solve society's challenges with evidence and expertise. We combine the rigour of academia with the agility of a consultancy and the connectedness of a think tank. Our research and teaching draws on many disciplines and methods, making use of the skills, expertise and resources of not only the institute, but the university and its wider network too.
As a key member of the Business and Operations team, the Senior Executive Assistant is responsible for providing highly professional executive support to the Policy Institute Director and to the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and other Institute Committees.
This is an exciting, fast-paced and outward facing role that requires someone with excellent communication skills, a highly professional 'can do' attitude and the drive to deliver a seamless service at all times. Responsibilities will include complex diary and travel management, preparation of meeting materials, minute taking and communication with working groups, facility, and catering bookings. The postholder will also engage in regular communication with key external stakeholders and partners on behalf of the Policy Institute, including MPs, members of the House of Lords, senior government officials and the media, reflecting the Policy Institute's high profile and very senior connections. The post-holder will also ensure that the Director is fully briefed and prepared for all activities, and ensure the smooth and efficient running of their agenda and diary.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced administrator who is able to manage challenging situations and confidential matters with professionalism and discretion. The Senior Executive Assistant will work closely with the Institute Business Manager and Head of Administration, and other members of the Policy Institute's Professional Services team, to ensure all are fully aligned on activities taking place across the Institute.
This is a hybrid with a minimum expectation that the role holder is on campus at least 3 days a week.
King's is an inclusive and welcoming university. We embrace diversity and want everyone to bring their whole selves to work and succeed. The Policy Institute supports an inclusive culture and diversity for our staff and students. We are committed to encouraging further growth from diverse groups, and we welcome applications from people of all abilities and currently under-represented groups, which we are able to support with our range of flexible and inclusive benefits.
This post will be offered on an indefinite contract.
