Tyre Hill House can accommodate up to eight families and has been renovated to a high standard reflecting our trauma informed and therapeutic ethos. Tyre Hill is unique in the fact we will only accept referrals from care experienced parents. Our aim is to keep families together when it is in the best interest of the child.
We are looking to appoint passionate, committed and motivated Senior Family Support Workers with values and qualities needed for this role to safeguard and support families who are undertaking a residential parenting assessment.
Whilst it’s important to have experience working with children, young people, and wider families, it’s imperative to us that you can use a PACE (playfulness, acceptance, curiosity and empathy) approach to deliver work which is trauma informed. Overall, you need to be committed to achieving lasting positive change for care experienced parents and their children.
You will be observing, monitoring and delivering interventions with families which requires you to be motivated, organised and have strong communication skills. You will be building relationships with vulnerable families and will need the ability to mentalise others, and confidently apply safeguarding and child protection practices where necessary.
As a senior support worker, you will work with the management team operationally on a day-to-day basis, complete handovers/de-briefs, help co-ordinate the diary and act as a first point of contact for queries or concerns raised. Out of hours and weekends you will liaise directly with the on-call manager when making decisions or dealing with incidents. We are seeking candidates who are informed with a flexible and agile approach to the work.
At Tyre Hill House our culture is a level-playing field. Everyone is heard, valued, and supported equally and with care. We take our values and philosophy seriously due to the nature of what we do.
