Job description

Who we are:

Set up by our visionary founder, The Jamie Oliver Group is a global and integrated food brand with a mission to help build a healthier, happier world through the joy of food.

From media and restaurants to products, partnership and Ministry of Food, every part of our diverse business has a key role to play in making it easier for people to cook and enjoy better, healthier, more sustainable, and joyful meals. Whether that’s in our homes, in restaurants or workplaces.

As a proud B Corp, we are committed to educate and inspire people, workplaces, schools and communities all over the world, to help make better choices, one meal at a time.

At The Jamie Oliver Group we celebrate the fact that everyone is different and we treat every colleague with dignity and respect. We know that diverse and inclusive teams help us deliver our best work, and we love to see applications from groups who are currently underrepresented in the creative industries.

Position:

What you're here to do:

We have an extremely exciting maternity cover opportunity for a Senior FP&A manager to come and join our tight knit and ambitious Finance team. We are looking for a strong strategic thinker, someone that is solution driven and proficient at using business data to inform strategic recommendations and decision making.

If you are highly numerate with the ability to absorb qualitative and quantitative information to form intelligent insights and tell the story behind the data then we want to hear from you.

Working as part of a wider Finance Team, you will be responsible for writing compelling presentations, stakeholder management, leading and influencing the team and supporting the CFO on a daily basis. This is a fast-paced, sometimes reactive role, so the ability to problem-solve and remain calm and cheerful under pressure is essential.

If you feel ready for your next challenge in a globally loved company, working on fascinating projects at a critical time of growth and change for the business, then get in touch!

Your responsibilities include:

  • Produce and lead core financial analysis and reporting that supports strategic decision-making, risk management, financial prudence and delivery of the Group’s legal fiduciary obligations
  • Act as an advisor to managers, SLT and Ops Board on strategic financial and commercial issues
  • Collaboratively design and build a new business reporting and forecasting infrastructure to inform decision making and guide strategic thinking and future planning.
  • Be responsible for tracking new business and project performance against targets/budgets.
  • Own the operational use and continuous improvement of the financial models used for business forecasting, scenario testing, budgeting and planning
  • Understand the needs and long term objectives of the Jamie Oliver business and to own and drive specific initiatives and projects that enable the business to become more efficient and effective in delivering our ambitions and objectives.
  • Lead the creation of a set of agile financial models that enable long term (5-year) forecasting and scenario planning.
  • Management of 5-year financial forecasts, monitoring of performance against these budgets and providing insight to Ops Board on business performance.
  • Work with divisional and corporate leaders to codify and quantify the key drivers of revenue, cost, EBITDA and cash flow within the business and use these as the basis for the models.
  • Maintain and improve data integrity across the business through working with divisional colleagues to implement robust data collection, validation, generation and input processes, and through enabling and delivering rigorous and timely analysis and insight of the right data for routine reporting and to inform key decisions
  • Take ownership of the routine KPI reporting process for monthly and quarterly Ops Board and SLT meetings, including summarising performance, identifying key messages (i.e. what it means for the business), risk areas and making recommendations for action in response to the reported information
  • Work with the relevant stakeholders in all business divisions to monitor and review effectiveness of current processes and implement any improvements or efficiencies where appropriate
  • Provide analysis, commercial advice and recommendations, and to develop financial models for scenario analysis on new business initiatives and ad hoc projects as required by the CFO and Director of Strategy.
  • Being the first point of contact, along with the CFO, for initial and ongoing assessment of commercial terms and financial forecasts for new partners/business initiatives and ad hoc projects.
  • Provide regular and ad hoc analysis and reporting on key business matters for the Ops Board and CFO as required.

Requirements:

What you need to know:

  • Demonstrable financial analysis experience working within fast paced and complex environments, investigating new ideas and making recommendations as to whether they are worth pursuing
  • In depth understanding of financial information, including financial MI, and how this information can be used to inform management decisions
  • Proven expertise and experience of analysing, defining and articulating complex problems clearly across strategic, business, systems, process and data areas of work
  • Experience in identifying key business metrics, and how these can be used to drive business planning and strategic thinking.
  • Familiarity with the core functionings of a business - sales, business development, back-office functions, operations etc. - and how the constituent parts work together to deliver success and growth
  • Experience working as part of a team with multiple colleagues from different parts of the business
  • Experience working with colleagues at all levels of the business, including senior- and executive-level managers and leaders, to solve challenging business problems
