Are you passionate about developing others? Do you have experience of supporting the development of new educational approaches and the professional development of those teaching and supporting learning?
Manchester Metropolitan University makes extensive use of digital education to support its face-to-face and online learning teaching. The Digital Education Team within the Centre for Learning, Enhancement and Educational Development at Manchester Metropolitan supports the delivery of our Education Strategy and the Digitally Enhanced Learning, Teaching and Assessment (DELTA) Strategy through its provision of support for university staff and its leadership of strategic cross-institutional projects to enhance the experience and success of our students.
We are looking for an experienced Senior Digital Education Specialist who is passionate about improving student outcomes through supporting the development of our teaching, learning and assessment support approaches and communities. We work in partnership with academic colleagues and are therefore looking for someone with expertise in pedagogical and digital education skills. To join our team, you must have a proven track record of supporting staff to use a Virtual Learning Environment (VLE), MS Teams and leading projects. You will have extensive experience of curriculum, instructional design and assessment processes adopted in Higher Education as well as being familiar with a wide range of digital education systems and tools. You will have excellent communication skills and be confident and competent at communicating with and contributing to the University's senior committees and teams. You will excel at project managing a complex workload in a high performing team to meet tight project deadlines. You will have significant experience in planning and offering professional development support for academic and professional services staff in relation to teaching, learning and assessment within digital education. You will also demonstrate a critical and evaluative approach to your practice and have a passion and enthusiasm for the development of others. You will be expected to have achieved or be working towards Senior Fellowship of AdvanceHE. Above all, you will be able to work closely with academic staff to provide the support necessary to develop effective curriculum and digital education innovation.
You will be responsible for leading on developing the team's high quality and timely support whilst ensuring it is in line with the Education Strategy, the DELTA Strategy, accessibility requirements, and wider quality assurance guidelines and standards. You will liaise with other institutional CPD providers, for example LEED colleagues, Strategic CoPs, Student Support Services and Library Services to ensure our training and workshop provision is strategically aligned. You will also provide support for the Digital Me project, associated teaching programmes and other key activities and projects as required. Additionally, you will contribute to the wider work of the Digital Education Team, including leading and contributing to projects and initiatives aligned with our Education Strategies.
