We’re here to create and harness knowledge, to deliver opportunity for everyone About the Role This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Lecturer in Finance to join The Faculty of Arts & Sciences. You will contribute to teaching on our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in modules relating to finance and business. You will also contribute to our research culture; you will be allocated a research allowance of approximately 40 percent of your time. As part of your role, you will be expected to contribute to the development and enhancement of relationships with external parties to support the student experience at Edge Hill. The School is ideally located between several large cities with thriving business communities. Working alongside our associated award-winning Productivity and Innovation Centre (PIC) unit, the School benefits from excellent relationships with industry in the UK and abroad. With almost 40 full-time academic staff, 4 graduate teaching assistants, a small team of associate tutors, specialised support from practitioners and around 1000 full-time undergraduate and postgraduate students, we strive to provide a supportive professional working environment that values and promotes excellence in teaching and research performance. The Business School offers a number of undergraduate single and joint honours degrees in Business Management, Marketing, Accounting, and Accounting and Finance. We also offer a suite of postgraduate research and taught degrees. About You As Senior Lecturer in Finance, you will be an enthusiastic and friendly professional with excellent communication and interpersonal skills coupled with a commitment to providing an excellent student experience. Experience of teaching is essential. You will enrich our student’s experience through your expertise and subject knowledge as evidenced through your qualifications and background in Finance and related disciplines. You will contribute to teaching on our undergraduate finance programmes and you will also play a key role in delivering finance-related modules on our postgraduate programmes. You will be an active researcher, with ambitious plans for publication and grant capture in your area of expertise. You will also be expected to contribute to the knowledge-exchange activities of the School and wider University. A PhD, or close to completed PhD (or equivalent demonstration of research capability) in Finance or a closely related field, is essential.
