What is the opportunity?
RBC BlueBay Asset Management offers a comprehensive range of solutions and services to clients and investors. You will be joining the Operations team as a Senior Operations Associate working in the Derivatives Middle Office team in the Operations department.
You will have the opportunity to understand the department as a whole and be involved in day-to-day tasks and strategic projects.
What will you do?
- Capture and affirmation of FX, Listed and OTC derivatives transactions within regulatory timeframes.
- Liaise with Front Office, counterparties and 3rd party vendors as required to resolve trade queries and disputes.
- Work closely with Clearers, FX Prime Brokers and Custodians to ensure all trade capture & reporting requirements are adhered to.
- Provide assistance to resolve any position issues raised by the Desk or Finance and investigation to identify the root cause.
- Identify and investigate potential process improvements as part of fortnightly sprints and engage in project work.
- Testing support for system upgrades and product processing enhancements.
- Support mapping and setup requirements for new fund onboarding.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have:
• Good understanding of Derivatives products, including CDS, IRS, FX, ETD, TRS & Swaptions, including trade lifecycles.
• Knowledge and understanding of central clearing across rates and credit, ensuring compliance with trading and clearing obligations under both Dodd-Frank and EMIR.
• Understand control points and demonstrate awareness of potential operational risk.
• Ability to demonstrate commercial thinking alongside a positive, ‘can-do’ attitude to all aspects of work.
• Excellent communication skills and a strong capacity and appetite for using initiative and getting involved in unfamiliar areas.
• Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint.
Nice-to-have
• Experience with swap confirmation platforms such as Markit Trade Manager & TradeServe.
• Experience with Charles River (OMS) and SimCorp Dimension (Settlement / Books & Records)
