About the role
Haringey Council is currently seeking a Senior Operative (senior gardener) to become part of their newly formed Parks Services team. We are in search of a dedicated and passionate individual who can bring their expertise to the team. As a Senior Operative, the successful candidate will be responsible for supervising a designated Parks grounds and other green spaces maintenance team, ensuring that the team provides excellent service delivery, communication, and achieves team, departmental and Council objectives. Additionally, the Senior Operative will promote safe working practices and ensure compliance with current regulations and safety guidelines, particularly regarding all grounds maintenance, horticultural activities, seasonal works, and traded services. About you

The role is varied and requires the ability to handle powered hand tools and drive ride-on machinery and a 3.5T van, which necessitates a full clean UK driving license. About the team
We are currently looking for individuals who can work effectively in teams of 3-5 people on a day-to-day basis. As a Senior Operative, you will have similar responsibilities as your colleagues, and you will be assigned to cover one of the six zones that we manage. Each zone has a Senior Operative and up to 3-5 gardeners, and each team leader is responsible for overseeing two zones. The job involves working in all weather conditions, but our teams are dedicated to making the local environment a pleasant place to visit, no matter what.
