Job description

Senior Programme Manager - Intelligence & Insight

Reference number: SC06401

Location: London

Schedule: Full-Time

Salary Range: £56,271 - £69,990

Contract Type: Fixed Term

The role

The Southwark Insights and Intelligence Programme (SIIP) is an ambitious three-year initiative to transform how Southwark Council improves outcomes for our communities and reduces health inequalities. The SIIP focus is on making better use of qualitative and quantitative data and evidence to inform and shape what we do as an organisation and to learn from implementation. There are 3 work programmes:

Community Research and Co-Production: Collaborate with VCS partners to develop a strong community research function in partnership with London South Bank University.

Data Integration: Strengthen how we share and use data across the Council and with our NHS and VCS partners.

Learning & development: Provide learning and development opportunities through training, secondments, knowledge transfer initiatives and multi-disciplinary project groups.

We are recruiting for a Senior Programme Manager for the SIIP.

The post holder will use their research, learning and development knowledge to lead and manage the development and implementation of the SIIP.

The post holder will work with staff at all levels across all services, to develop systems and processes to support how data, evidence, evaluation and research are used to improve our knowledge of local communities, understand complex issues and evidence of what works, to inform decision-making and to develop a Council culture of learning.

About you:

Excellent knowledge and experience of a range of research and evaluation disciplines and research governance and ethics.

Experience of developing and implementing structures and processes that help stakeholders apply knowledge and insights obtained from research and evaluation activities to inform Council decision making.

Ability to lead, manage and undertake work of a highly complex and diverse nature, which requires strong collaborative and partnership skills.

About Southwark:

At Southwark we are committed to making our borough just and fair and are taking positive action to tackle inequalities. Our residents and communities are our greatest asset and the passion we have for Southwark is shared by millions of Londoners who enjoy our outstanding cultural offer, use our hospitals and attend our universities. Our refreshed borough plan and focus on Southwark Stands Together, (which is our work with Southwark’s communities and the council’s staff to tackle racism, injustice and inequality) underpins all that we do.

The SIIP is hosted within the Public Health Division of 45+ multi-disciplinary public health colleagues.
