AWE are looking for a Senior Manager, who has a Project Management or Control background to join our Senior Leadership team as the Service Lead within the enterprise portfolio management office (ePMO) in the P3M Function.
This role will report to the Director of Project Controls and Planning and will be accountable for the development and embedment of a P3M Delivery Framework and is responsible for the deployment and delivery across our Portfolio, Programme & Projects teams so that they are provided with the appropriate tools, processes and know how to enable consistent and effective delivery across the AWE Enterprise.
Location - Reading / Basingstoke area

What will you be required to do?
  • Lead an integrated team of process and subject matter experts to design, author and implement an AWE specific P3M Management and Control Framework to drive consistent Project Delivery based on industry best practise and tailored to the unique requirements of our mission
  • Oversee the definition of requirements and strategy for supporting tools and systems and the interface with the IS Function and user community.Oversee the management of system administration, local application, training, and user assessments for the P3M toolset Sharing LFE of the framework
  • Interface with all ePMO Service Leads ensure the P3M framework supports all the ePMO requirements
  • Lead and chair a small pan enterprise Steering Group to provide peer review and support of the proposed framework as it is designed to drive for a right first-time implementation. Through the Steering Group provide c ontrol governance and configuration over the designed P3M Framework
  • Lead and coordinate adoption of the framework, and its future variants , including the development and implementation familiarisation packages to ensure the requirements and specifics of the P3M framework are familiar and understood by senior managers, practitioners and new employees
  • Review the effectiveness of the P3M framework on a regular basis.Undertake periodic reviews of best practice from industry, professional bodies, and our customer to assess and define improvements to the framework.Oversee and manage all changes under strict configuration control
  • Lead and co-ordinate a small team of Project Management and control discipline leads to provide peer review or peer assist to our customers, executive team, programmes, and projects as agreed to support delivery and/or assurance reviews
  • Identify and work with key internal and external stakeholders to the framework to identify and manage their requirements and ensure they are managed

Whilst not to be considered a check list, candidates should be able to demonstrate some of the following:
  • Project Management practitioner qualification
  • Excellent facilitation skills to foster engagement and support decision making
  • Strong change management skills, through robust engagement with people, connecting with empathy, and excellent communication
  • Resolution focused with the ability to be flexible and creative in approach
  • Ability to create a team environment that is fast-paced and service oriented
  • Experience of successfully introducing and piloting new processes in an operational environment
  • Experience in a senior leadership position in a P3M capacity
  • Experience in leading team performance, effectively assigning and organising workloads appropriately to manage delivery
  • Empowering teams to take ownership and use their judgement to provide timely personalised responses in a way that appropriately balance the needs of our stakeholder
  • Creating a positive collaborative and diverse working environment where you can easily identify and grow talent whilst increasing the quality and speed of performance
  • Knowledge of the regulatory bodies that deal with AWE and the relevant processes that need to be adhered to
