The team are looking for an experienced reinsurance professional to fill an integral position in the team as a Senior Reinsurance Technician, leading and supporting on all reinsurance operational and accounting practices.
The team are currently going through a period of innovation and change with exciting automation and system implementation projects coming up.
Key Responsibilities:
- Risk creation within core systems, ensuring accurate and timely maintenance of policy records
- Accurate and compliant booking, advice and settlement of reinsurance premium and related expenses
- Ensure the timely and accurate calculation and issuance of reinsurance recoveries within agreed SLAs
- Support the Actuarial and Finance teams in all aspects of financial reporting.
- Satisfy all internal and external reporting requirements, in accordance with deadlines
- Raise material issues to Senior Management and supervise through to resolution
- Ensure all controls, including SOX are followed
Skills & Qualifications:
- Demonstrable experience in the (re)insurance industry and possess a demonstrable knowledge of insurance and reinsurance
- Ability to accurately interpret and analyse reinsurance contract language to determine cover suitability
- An understanding of reinsurance accounting principles and practices would be advantageous
- Display well-developed interpersonal skills at all business levels, including interaction with external business parties
- Possess strong numerical and analytical skills
- Exhibit strong Excel skills and be a proficient user of MS Office; ability to learn in-house software is essential
